These were a SUPER RARE find!♡ I honestly didn't even know what they were fully when I found them! All I knew was that they were carved from some kind of fruit pit or nutshell & that they were highly collectible! This happens to be a SUPER RARE & original set that was once used to fasten a sagemono (small pouch) to a Kimono Sash! It looks like the animal figure was painted gold at one point & is now fading off. I took some close-ups of this for you to see. The basket doesn't have any of the gold on it & is hollow inside like the animal. This is a very unique & rare collectible set that is in excellent condition!♡

▪︎You will receive this exact Netsuke Set!

◇Netsukes are small, ornamental toggles that were used to secure items to kimono sashes in 17th-century Japan! Netsukes are typically carved from wood or ivory & often depict animals, mythological creatures, or scenes from daily life. They are considered miniature sculptures & are super rare & highly collectible!
